Judge Eliane Liekendael caricature
Eliane Liekendael was the first woman in the Belgian judiciary and became the highest judge of the country.
But she was best known for the so-called "spaghetti-arrest" in the Dutroux case. The ruling resulted in investigating judge Connerotte being removed from the case because he had eaten at a dinner where the victims were also. Which eventually led to the famous White March.
Judge Eliane Liekendael was very serious, stern and sincere, highly intelligent and... quite unworldly.

Some details required extra attention...
As usual, I made a few downsized photocopies to do some quick color tests.
Sometimes I tested subtle color differences, but here I tried some very different moods.
When I had made my final color choices I could finally start painting,
in that period usually with gouache on drawing or painting paper...
This was again an assignment for publisher 'De Eenhoorn', this time for their informative children's magazine 'Klap'.
